Ah, the Festive Season! (Can you believe that we’ve almost completed another trip around the sun!?) There is so much to love about this most wonderful time of the year! As our beautiful Resort fills up with happy holidaymakers, so do our hearts; and soon, the sound of laughing children, pool splashes and the contented murmurs of world-weary folk starting to relax and unwind will fill the air. This seems like the perfect opportunity to remind you of the importance of family holidays, especially in these stressful times. You, our valued Shareholders, understand the value

of having secured an annual breakaway for you and your loved ones, in order to cherish quality family time, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We hope that you will continue to take every opportunity to make memories together, here at your holiday home-away-from-home that your children and your grandchildren will keep close to their hearts for the rest of their lives! But before the holiday feeling carries us completely away, let us catch you up with all things Manzi Monaté 2021.

Over the years, we have often spoken about the value we place on our people – both our highly valued Manzi Monaté Staff Team and our beloved Shareholders. We are very sad to share that one of our most valued and highly regarded people, one of our brightest lights, is no longer with us. Our very own ‘DK’ – Dikeledi Mokete – passed away on 17 October 2021.

We are extremely excited to officially introduce our new Manzi Monaté Resort Management couple, Johan and Cecilia Saunders, who joined the team in 2021

Johan, who was appointed by VRS as Manzi Monaté’s Resort Manager in June this year, has many years of experience in the Hospitality Industry, both locally and internationally. In addition, he spent a number of years in the IT sector and a number of years in retail. Johan’s career has always been steered by his great passion for people and his belief in strong leadership and in leading by example.

Cecilia also has significant managerial experience in the Hospitality Industry and has been appointed as Manzi Monaté’s Administrator. Her experience also includes a number of years in the Financial sector and she is someone with a great love of learning and development, with no less than 34 study courses, through SAACI, completed since 2017. Cecilia believes in strong teamwork and making a difference every day, through values and respect.

Johan and Cecilia, we are delighted to have you both ‘on the team’ and we look forward to seeing our beloved Manzi Monaté flourish under your stewardship. We wish you both much success and much happiness in your new roles.

Making sure that your holiday home-away-from-home remains a place that you treasure and look forward to returning to, is at the top of our ‘To-Do’ list! We’ve been busy!

It doesn’t take much for us to get our party shoes on when there’s an opportunity to share a celebration and some fun with our guests and Shareholders.

On Father’s Day, we held a braai and all the Dads received a gift box.

All our lovely lady guests received a specially made cupcake in a box on arrival for Women’s Day and cakes and treats were served at the Kiosk area.

Guests checking-in over Heritage Day were welcomed in true South African style. A braai was held to celebrate “Braai Day” and guests and staff were all invited to join in the fun.

Talking of braais and celebrations, ahead of the upcoming Festive Season, we thought we’d share a favourite Manzi summer holiday recipe for your enjoyment:

Are you a lover of roses? Why not take a drive out to the world-renowned Ludwig’s Rose Farm, less than a 30 minute drive from Manzi Monaté. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch or tea at The Rose Kitchen restaurant, amongst a fragrant sea of (literally) millions of rose bushes! If you’re taking the kiddies or the grand-kiddies along, there’s a lovely enclosed playground right next to the restaurant, where you are able to keep an ear, and an eye, on them.

Just in case you needed reminding, here are a few of our favourite things about Manzi Monaté holidays…

Family and Friends (aka you!)… the sights, sounds and smells of Summer on the fresh breeze… the Trees!... the taste of an ice-cold cola in a glass bottle on a hot day… pristine, landscaped grounds dotted with shady trees (!)… kiddies having the time of their lives in a safe environment… families belly-laughing with fellow family-members during our entertainment frolics… the smell of a braai… birdsong… trees… holding hands… enticing mom into the pool… mini golf competitions… hamburgers and ‘slap’ chips… enjoying the animal antics at the animal farm… your smiles as you arrive though the gate… did we mention the trees?
