Winter has arrived at Ngwenya Lodge, bringing crisp air, clear blue skies, and a fresh burst of energy to the bush! Families and friends are wrapping up in warm layers, sharing laughter over steaming cups of coffee as the sun rises over the Crocodile River. It’s a season made for reconnecting, exploring, and making unforgettable memories.

Earlier this year, the Ngwenya Lodge Board invited all Kruger Park enthusiasts to connect with the newly formed Kruger Heritage Foundation. We are pleased to share that the response from our shareholders has been incredibly encouraging, and progress is well underway.
The Foundation has been officially registered, with Ngwenya shareholders Peter Gray (Chairman), Doug Swanson and Werner Illgner as the founding directors. Recent activities include building a strong relationship with Kruger Park management, presenting formally to KNP and SANParks, identifying possible board members, and starting the process to become a registered public-benefit organisation. Work has also begun on creating a KHF website and IT infrastructure to support future projects.
While the certification process is taking longer than expected and holding up some initiatives, we remain positive about the road ahead. Should you have expertise in expediting certification, fundraising, or website development, your support would be invaluable.

Aircons
An exciting upgrade is underway as many units are being fitted with new air conditioning systems. This project not only modernises the units but also gives each one a unique, refreshed feel.

Unit 072 Patio
Structural adjustments were made to address the misalignment identified on Unit 072’s patio.
|
|
Bath Tubs
Bathtubs across multiple units have been repaired to fix leaks and cracks, ensuring they’re in perfect shape and ready for worry-free use.
|
|
|
Showers
Leaky and cracked showers were quickly repaired, restoring them to great condition and ensuring our guests continue to enjoy a comfortable stay.
|
|
Painting Units
Several units got a bright new coat of paint, and we replaced any door frames showing signs of rot, keeping everything fresh and well-maintained.
|
|
|
|
Spa Bridge
The logs on the bridge leading to our beauty spa received a much-needed refresh! The worn, rusty look is gone, replaced with sturdy new logs that restore its charm.
|
|
HB01 Sump
A brand-new sump was built next to unit HB01, replacing the old damaged unit. This upgrade uses modern construction methods, with all parts securely sealed and neatly contained in a single structure.

|
General Maintenance and Repairs
Regular maintenance continues across the Resort, including bathtub and toilet replacements, unit repainting, and overall touch-ups to keep everything in top condition.

|
Gardens
Our gardening Team is doing fantastic work! From cutting back reeds around the dams to sweeping pathways and planting fresh flowers, they’re keeping the Resort looking beautiful and welcoming.

Lath Fence
Some of our lath fences had become slightly skewed, but thanks to the maintenance Team, they’re now perfectly straight and sturdy again.

New Property Management System
HotelTime is a comprehensive Property Management System (PMS) designed to streamline operations and enhance guest experiences in the hospitality industry. The implementation of HotelTime at Ngwenya Lodge marks a significant step toward modernising our operations.
With its intuitive interface, advanced features, and seamless integration with other systems, HotelTime will improve efficiency, simplify daily tasks, and provide better data insights for decision-making. This system supports all aspects of property management, from reservations and check-ins to billing and reporting, ensuring a smoother workflow and a more cohesive experience for both staff and guests.

New Booking Agent – MyResorts
We are pleased to introduce our new rental booking agent, MyResorts. This hospitality brand offers a carefully selected collection of resorts and holiday escapes, making it easy for guests to find and book memorable getaways. In addition, MyResorts uses smart technology to manage bookings, including those for private owners, with a focus on boosting occupancy and maximising revenue.

Christmas Day 2024
Christmas at Ngwenya Lodge was nothing short of memorable! Twinkling lights, colourful décor, and the smell of fresh-baked cookies created a festive atmosphere our guests won’t forget. Le Fera’s Christmas Lunch Buffet was a hit, with delicious roasts, vibrant salads, and sweet treats that had everyone smiling. A day filled with joy, laughter, and festive cheer!

We rang in the New Year in style at Le Fera! With dazzling disco lights, colourful balloons, and fantastic drink specials, the party vibe was electric. Guests danced, laughed, and celebrated late into the night: a truly unforgettable start to the year!

Valentine’s Day
Love filled the air this Valentine’s Day at Ngwenya! Beautiful decorations and sweet surprises greeted our guests, setting the stage for an amazing evening. Le Fera’s lavish buffet, featuring gourmet dishes and delightful desserts, made for a romantic celebration to remember.

Easter
Easter weekend was bursting with colour and cheer. Whimsical bunny décor and sweet speckled egg treats ensured every corner of the Lodge felt festive.
