We were all so excited to ring in the New Year with our valued guests. Reception was decorated with beautiful 2021 artwork and we gave out some treats to the children as they arrived with their parents. A small gift of sweets was delivered to each apartment with a card wishing our guests a “Happy New Year”.

December School Holidays
Our holiday programme is tailored for the whole family to enjoy, and our December activities were no exception! Some of the Festive goings-on included the Amazing Race, Minute-To-Win-It, Mr & Miss Uvongo, Mini Golf Competition, Decorating Cookies, Arts & Crafts, and so much more!
When children or adults took part in the activities, we took their names, temperature and sanitised their hands. All COVID-19 protocols and procedures were adhered to at all times and this made for an enjoyable atmosphere.

Valentine’s Day
Although Valentine’s Day isn’t a particularly big deal across South Africa, each and every one of us at Uvongo River Resort adore this romantic weekend – especially because it gives us another opportunity to spoil our guests! For Valentine’s Day, Reception was sprinkled with love - we had popcorn, sweets and lollies for guests to enjoy and each apartment received a little gift that consisted of Hug In A Mug, some chocolates and a little card from the Team.

Easter
Easter was another fun celebration for the whole family. Reception was decorated with an Easter banner and eggs. We placed a table outside with juice, popcorn, Cecilia’s homemade ginger cookies and lollies as a yummy treat for our guests. We also created a booklet with colouring fun for the children to take and enjoy in their apartment. On Saturday, at 10am, we had an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. The Easter Bunny also popped in during our hunt and the children were very excited to see him. After the hunt, the Easter Bunny gave out some additional eggs for everyone to enjoy.

Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day was a sweet treat! Reception was decorated in true Uvongo fashion – posters on the walls, Chinese lanterns hanging outside, and a festive table ready to welcome guests with juice, sweets and red velvet and chocolate cupcakes. Mothers were gifted with a yummy flapjack recipe card and a jar filled with individually measured dry ingredients – flour, sugar and baking powder. |
