Here’s what’s been happening…

Patrys Bensch

We are elated to introduce and welcome a key addition to the Uvongo team, Patrys Bensch. Patrys has been with VRS for quite some time now and was recently promoted to the position of Resort Manager at Uvongo River Resort. Patrys, we are thrilled to have you on the team and we wish you a long-lasting, fruitful and rewarding tenure at Uvongo River Resort!

Xolani Manqane

We are proud to announce that Xolani Manqane celebrated his 10 year working anniversary with Uvongo River Resort! He has been part of the family since August 2009. Xolani is our very hard-working Maintenance Supervisor.

Ivan Steenkamp

The newest member of the Uvongo team is Ivan Steenkamp. Ivan started on the 23rd of April 2019 as our Stock Controller. He has, affectionately, been nicknamed “Roadrunner”, as he is always running around the resort to where he needs to go.

More Resort News

A newlywed couple checked in on the 19th of August 2019 and spent their honeymoon with us!
One of their family members had contacted us and asked if we could make them a romantic hamper with an abundance of balloons. We placed the hamper in their unit so that they would be surprised when they checked in. Needless to say, our lovely newlyweds were over the moon with our special surprise!

We recently had three friends on vacation in the same unit that celebrated their birthdays with us. We decided to surprise them and asked that they join us at the swimming pool. When they arrived at the pool, our wonderful Housekeeping Team sang for them and wished them all a very Happy Birthday. They were speechless! It really was a very special moment for us as well as for them. We enjoy creating these special memories for all of our guests.

Each year brings with it a multitude of fun days and holidays to be enjoyed and celebrated.
Uvongo River Resort takes these opportunities to make guests feel super special (as they are).

The theme for Father’s Day was “Braai Master”. All of the incredible Dads were given a “Braai Pack” which included firelighters, matches and a small bottle of Richelieu.
We hosted a bring and braai on the Saturday, where guests brought their own meat and drinks and we offered various salads, pap and scrumptious gravy.

On Women’s Day we lovingly decorated our Reception area with flowers and balloons. We baked a batch of delicious cupcakes which were given to all of the lovely ladies as they arrived and checked in. As women are generous, so were we – family members were also welcome to indulge in a sweet treat or two! Our wonderful women loved the effort we made.

Did you know that we support African Blessings? This Non-Profit and Public Benefit Company cares for its community, children, animals and the environment. Their latest project is to raise the much needed funds for a new tractor for their farm.
